Breaking Dawn Part II

*SPOILER ALERT**
Don't read this if you haven't seen Breaking Dawn Part II yet!!
My wonderful parents and Bryon were able to watch Olivia and Madalynn while Dennis and I went on a date to see the movie.

Ok, so Dennis and I went to see the last of the Twilight saga tonight at the Scera theatre. First off, I'd recommend anyone in the Provo/Orem area go there. No lines, only $7 and no tax.

Now to the movie. Everything is going great and I love how everything is coming together. I like the girl they chose for Renesmee. My favorite scene was when Bella was furious at Jacob for imprinting on her daughter. I thought that was really well done.

Now near the end of the movie we get to the meadow. Alice comes and talks to Aro and then the huge fight breaks out and Carlisle dies immediately! That got me so angry I was clenching my fists and tensing my shoulders. Then all the vampires and wolves are fighting together. Bella is trying to protect certain people with her shield, but she can't protect all of them. A few wolves died and I almost wanted to cry, but was to angry to. I almost got up and walked out of the movie theater. I kept on trying to think of why the movie was so off of the book. I had just finished reading the last book only the night before with all of the details fresh in my mind. Then Jasper dies and I finally figured it out. Alice was showing Aro a vision of what would happen. I leaned over and told Dennis, but I still had some doubt. Lastly Bella and Edward kill Aro and they start to burn his body. Whoosh, back to Alice showing Aro her vision and nobody is dead. Everyone in the theater reacted. Most laughed or say "Ohhhh" once everything clicked into place. I couldn't really enjoy the rest of the movie because of my pent up emotions. I had read all of the books and watched all of the movies waiting for the last one to come out. I'm not sure why I reacted so much. After the movie I vented to Dennis and explained how pissed off I was during the movie when they killed Carlisle. He of course thought the movie was awesome with a lot of sweet fighting. Funny this is, I warned him before it started that there was hardly any fighting in the book. I guess the director wanted the guys to really like the movie too.
Basically I think I was too emotionally involved in the movie to actually enjoy it and want to go see it again knowing the fight scene is fake. Then I might actually enjoy the movie.

Toddler Busy Bags

My friend invited me to attend a busy bag exchange party recently. Basically you all make a certain number of bags with fun things for toddlers to do while at church, doctors, ect. Then you all swap and you get all kinds of fun easy to take bags.

Here is what I made.

Dennis helped a lot by cutting the holes on the top of these super cute containers I found for 2 for $1. The plastic was pretty hard so he had to really work at it.
These are called Pom pom push it in. Basically the kids take the pom poms out and stuff them back in the hole.
Olivia really loves it!
We had such a good time. We only had 6 people in our group but we got some really fun things from the exchange. I'm wanting to host a party with my sisters-in -law. If anyone would be interested in doing a busy bag party let me know and I'll be sure to include you in my party :)

New Hair!

So I've been wanting to get my haircut since Feb but decided to wait. I cut off over 17 inches!

Cute things Olivia has done

~Olivia is sitting on Dennis' lap eating. She bite her own finger, said "owie" then kissed her own finger better!

~Livey comes over to the desk, looks at my empty yogurt cup, then glares at me for eating "her" yogurt.  So I go get her some yogurt and she is super happy about it.

~During her nap time, Dennis goes in to check on Olivia. She had turned the light on and used a box to crawl into her sisters crib. She also turned on the mobile. When she saw her daddy she started saying "no, no no no no" and wagging her finger back and forth.
~I'm in the bathroom brushing my hair, Olivia pops out of the shower saying " Surprise!" Lol. So adorable.

~Maddy is crying in her crib and Livey is trying to tell us saying "baby," "baby" and pointing. We already know the baby is crying and we're letting her cry it out. A few minutes later we don't know where Olivia went, so we look in the nursery and she is in the crib with her baby sister playing with her mobile. Maddy isn't crying anymore cause she is so fasinated with her big sister!

~Over at Leanne's house. We tell Livey its time to go cause she needs to go to sleep. She runs to Lexus' room and lies on the bed said "sleep", pulled the blanket over her head and starts pretend snoring.

~Livey pretended to be a baby and lied on the baby playmat swatting at toys just like her lil sister does.

~She loves getting massages from her mommy and will go and lie down on the massage table cause she knows that's where to get a massage! She also loves giving foot massages to people. Lol. Massage therapist in training!

Piano Playin

So I haven't really practiced the piano in years. In my defense, we haven't had a piano until last year. I finally started practicing on Monday. I'm surprised by how bad I was at first, but I'm getting better! I'm getting some of the hymns down that I used to play all of the time. It is kinda hard to practice because Livey always wants to play with me, but she has so much fun and is so cute to watch that I don't mind. I try getting some good quality practice in when she sleeps. Wednesday I was playing a hymn and singing along and Livey climbs on the bench and starts pounding on the keys and singing along with mommy. It was so adorable!

So Olivia's new favorite song is "Popcorn Popping". She loves doing the actions and usually gets ahead of the song in her hurry to do all of the actions. Guess who else loves the song? Maddy! Whenever I do the popcorn popping action she smiles and laughs and starts babbling along :D
I love being a mommy to such adorable little girls!

Camping and Anniversary

Dennis and I celebrated our 3rd year anniversary on August 7th.

I can't believe we already have two kids! When Dennis proposed to me, he took me to The Roof Restaurant in the Joseph Smith Building for dinner. Having the Salt Lake temple right outside the window is one of the best things about The Roof. The best thing is the dessert table! Its an all you can eat buffet with amazing food and even more amazing desserts. Our favorite is the creme brulee. Dennis and I have made it a tradition to go back to The Roof every year on our anniversary. It costs about a hundred dollars to go, but the food and the atmosphere are so worth it. This year when we got to our table they had a sign saying "Happy 3rd Anniversary!" And Dennis also had them put a little rose bouquet at my place setting, which was a happy surprise for me. My brother Roy and his wife Marissa were babysitting Livey and Maddy and they had their own 6 month old son to care for, so we didn't do anything else that night. We decided to get a new tent for our gift to each other. We had fun going to Cabella's and we even found the perfect tent on sale. The tent is an 8 man tent and is huge.

We tested it out by going camping two weeks later. My parents and Roy & Marissa went with us up to Squaw Peak to some free camping grounds. We had just gotten set up when across the Meadow from us, some guy's jeep caught on fire! Everybody got out of the car fast and they came running over asking if we had water. The 5 gallon jug of water we had sadly didn't do anything to the flames. Dennis called 911 on my phone and tried to explain to the operator how to get there. The jeep started catching a tree on fire and I was kinda freaking out and got Maddy in her car seat all ready to jump in the car and get out of there in case there was a forest fire. The popping sounds the tires made when the heat was too much scared me a lot! I have never seen a car catch fire before and all I could think of was the movies where the car is on fire for about 2 seconds then explodes in a huge ball of fire. Luckily real life is different and cars don't really explode like that. The jeep had pretty much burned to the ground by the time the firetrucks got there and put out the flame. They had quite a few firemen there and they had to stay for a few hours afterwards in case the fire started back up again. What an exciting start to our camping trip! We almost didn't go camping at all because the night before Olivia had a fever of 102. I called the doctor and he said to monitor it and come in the morning if it didn't go down. So we went to the doctors office around 9 and he said her throat was really red and inflamed. He thought it was probably strep throat. He also let us know that Maddy couldn't get it since she was under a year old, which was a relief. We asked the doc if he thought we should go camping and he told us to go. After the first dose of medicine Livey seemed to feel better and her fever went down. For dinner we had chili dogs with all the toppings. And of course what would a camping trip be without s'mores? After dinner my mom and Marissa brought out their guitars and we sang campfire songs. Then we decided it was time for bed. Olivia has a little princess tent that actually fit inside our big tent. And we took the swing for Maddy to sleep in and that also fit nicely into the tent. We had a horrible night sleep. Olivia kept on waking up and crying off and on all night. We tried putting her between us to sleep, but I kept on almost falling off the air mattress. Then sometime after midnight a tow truck had come to take the burned up jeep away, with all the beeping and yelling I'm sure no one slept through that. And of course when that was over some late partiers decide to make a ruckus. Maddy even woke up to nurse more then usual. I was also freezing because we didn't put the fly up on the tent, which keeps in heat. *Sigh* We also had to get up early to eat breakfast because Roy had to go to work. My parents got a little more sleep then we did, so after breakfast they took Olivia so that Dennis, Madalynn and I could go back to the tent to get more sleep. What a crazy camping trip! Next time we definitely won't go when Livey is sick and we won't forget to put up the fly so we don't freeze. But besides that we actually had a good time camping and we are very gratful that there wasn't a forest fire.

Church calling

I'm excited to announce that I finally have a calling in my ward... Drum roll please...

I am now the 1st counsler in the YW presidency! That means i'm in charge of the Mia-maids. I am so looking forward to it. Wednesday will be my first young womens night since I was in YW. I love love love the young womens and I think I'll be very happy there. Two of my girls came up to me and told me how excited they were that I was called. I am just a little intimidated thinking of how much I used to look up to my own leaders and hoping that I will be a good leader.
Wish me luck!

Poems

I wanted to post 2 poems I wrote a few years back. Hopefully I'll get back into writing more poems soon. Maybe posting these will inspire me.

Roller Coaster
Up and down
Lurching from side to side
Never knowing what to expect
Can't see the turns ahead.
That double loop hit me by surprise.
Feet dangling in the air
Feeling so insecure, is this safe?
Finally it slows down
Only to speed up
To zoom through the scariest twist of all!
A rapidly plunging downward spiral,
My heart stops.
It pulls up only just in time.
Am I safe yet? Can I look now?
Who can tell in the roller coaster of my life.
Jennifer Sue Bischoff

It may take a long time,
and a steel frame of mind
Who would have guessed
It would be such a mess?
I know that we are not born
To be sad and to morn.
Happiness is the plan of life
for it surely isn't strife.
We cannot live in the past
when there is the present -
We cannot dwell in the present
When there is our future.
Learn from our past mistakes
Then we will see what the future makes.

Making pizza and watching TV

Olivia made her first pizza! Papa Murphy's is our favorite pizza place and they recently came out with a "Mini Murph" pizza for little kids. Her daddy helped her make it and she tried eating all the cheese before it was cooked. Lol. She loved making it and eating it :)

Here are some pictures of Olivia sitting with her little sister watching some TV

Watching some tv together

And here is one of Maddy and her pretty pink bow :)

Olympics! Woot! and 7 peaks

Can I just say that I love the olympics? Dennis and I have our DVR set to record all the action on NBC. (Basically all the events the US is in) My favorites are volleyball (beach and regular) gymnastics and swimming. I used to play v-ball in high school so I can explain some rules to Dennis when he doesnt understand them. The Fab five in gymnastics are just amazing. I was so heartbroken for Jordyn when she didn't make it to all around. But they won the team gold medal! First team gold in 16 years! And of course everyone knows about Michael Phelps and his awesomeness.

We went to 7 peaks today with Olivia. Dropped off Maddy at the grandparents so we could focus on Livey today. Dennis and I have the pass of all passes and even Olivia has a tadpole pass (which was free). First we went on the slides. Dennis was able to hold Livey on his lap while riding down. She seemed to like it. Then we played in the little kid water area. She just loves water. She also loves the Lazy river. It's so cute to watch her. After about two hours we left to go get Maddy. It seems like everytime we go swimming we have to get Little Ceasers afterwards. I was starving! Nothing like a hot fresh pizza when you are going to pass out with hunger, ok not pass out, but I was pretty hungry! I'm a nursing momma and can't seem to get enough food!

Lavender Days

Last Saturday we went down to Mona, UT to support my sister-in-law, who was running a half marathon. Go Marissa! I sure couldn't do that.
The run was through Lavender fields and was very beautiful.

After we watched her cross the finish line we stayed around for the Lavender Days, which is like a little fair. We saw a jousting tournament with real horses and swords and lances. Livey absolutely loved the horses. She even got to ride on a pony and cried when Dennis took her off. They had a lot of fun crafts to do and activities. Dennis and I got to ride on a paddle boat in their little pond, we all rode on a wagon tour of the farm and got to pet animals in a petting Zoo. We are definately planning on going next year! Dennis and I might even run a 5k. If I get in shape, which hopefully I will!

Olivia loved the pony ride!

We all enjoyed the big swing.

Church

Today was Madalynn's first day at church! I was excited to have my two girls with me and decided to put them in pink outfits and I even wore a pink shirt to match. My hubby was sick, so I got to take Olivia and Maddy to church by myself. Not easy! Good thing Livey goes to nursery for most of the time. After church I went to pick up Livey at nursery and boy was she hyper, probably because church happens to be right at nap time. I'm trying to hold onto a hyper two year old and a sleeping newborn all at the same time. So I let Livey go to put Maddy in her carseat and two seconds later she's gone. It took me about 7 minutes and asking lots of people if they saw a little girl in a pink dress go by to find her. Finally my neighbor found her up behind the piano in the chapel. I hope my husband is never sick on Sundays again!  But on the positive side, everyone loved Madalynn and told me how beautiful she was, which I was inclined to agree with :)

Madalynn's Birth Story

The whole reason I started to blog is because I wanted to share my stories about my two daughters. I love being a mom!
My first daughter, Olivia, came two weeks early, so with my second daughter I was hoping she'd come early as well. On a Thursday about 11 days before my due date, I started having contractions around 7pm. I got really excited and called my mom and sis-in-law. They came over a few hours later and my mom made me a special dinner I had planned. I was really organized and had a written out home labor plan, including acupressure/reflexology, a long bath, a special dinner, walks to the park etc. I had studied hypnobirthing and wanted to do this one natural. After a few hours of labor my contractions started fizzling off and on every couple hours. I didn't get much sleep, but managed a few hours. The contractions were on and off all night and the next day. They stopped all together at 8pm on Friday night. I was able to sleep all Friday night. Saturday I went on doing normal things without any contractions. Dennis and I even had a couple of friends over to play games. At 9pm contractions started up again. This time they were more intense, but I figured they'd stop just like before. I continued playing games. The contractions kept coming and getting stronger. I finally decided to call my mom. She was my Doula and has had experience delivering babies, so she knows her stuff. I told her I thought the contractions would stop soon, but either way I'd keep her posted. A little while later I called her and told her I was having a hard time talking through the contractions, so maybe she should come over. Meanwhile Dennis and our friends are watching James Bond. I didn't tell him that the contractions were very bad. I was on the birth ball trying to breath through each contraction. When my mom got there around 11:30 she could tell I was definitely progressing and needed to start the hypnobirthing relaxation. We kicked our friends out and put on relaxing music. At this point I was having a really hard time relaxing. The only way I could get through was by leaning forward on the birth ball and having my mom tell me the Well visual. Basically the visual is that Olivia and I are in the bottom of a well and the contractions are a rope around my stomach pulling us both to safety. I have to relax or Olivia will freak out and fall. It worked really well and helped me relax. At this point, however, I start thinking to myself maybe I should get an epidural... about 10 minutes later my mom recommended I change positions to a standing dancing position, supported by Dennis. The contractions continued to get worse and were pretty bad at this point. I sat down feeling like I had to go to the bathroom (later my mom explained this feeling was me needing to push).  I told my mom this, and she asked Dennis to get the hospital bag and we headed to the hospital. We only live about 4 minutes away. When we got to the hospital, Dennis jumped out and left the car running (my mom offered to park the car).  When we first walked in the guard said, "wheelchair?" which was exactly what the guard said when I walked in during labor with Oliva.  Wow, they know the drill!  Anyways, I got to the room and stripped down as fast as I could, got the robe on, and got in bed.

The nurse casually checked me to discover I was fully dilated and fully effaced! They weren't so casual anymore.  They called my doctor, but explained he probably wouldn't have time to get there... and they were right.  It was left to the on-call doctor to do the delivery. My water hadn't broke yet, which was why I was feeling so much pressure. The doctor tried to make me push in the stirups, but I made him let me push in side lying (ok, really it was Dennis and my mom that made sure he did what was on the birth plan). Now with Olivia, I was pushing for 3 hours. With Madalynn I pushed a couple times, and she was crowning.  The doc broke my water and I continued to push. I didn't expect the pushing to hurt, but it sure did. After only a couple minutes she was born! Dennis was able to cut the cord. He was such a help and comfort through the whole thing. I was able to hold Maddy right away, I expected her to be covered in blood and all of that, but she was relatively clean. Other than an initial cry, she didn't make a peep, except for cute cooing sounds.  It was an awe inspiring experience to deliver naturally and to hold her right after. She started nursing right away and latched on without a problem (she is such a good eater). She was born on Sunday morning, 8 days early, at 12:58 am - And only 11 minutes after I arrived at the hospital! She was a tiny baby, smaller than Olivia, even though she was born a week later than her.  She was 5lbs 11oz and 19 in long. Also, she was so cute - While my mom was holding her, Dennis was talking to me and she was straining to look over at daddy.  Dennis called my brother Joey, who helped me into the car not more than 30 minutes ago and told him that Madalynn was born. He thought we were joking since I just left the house. The whole experience was amazing. I loved doing it natural and the recovery was so much better! Olivia is 2 and she loves her little sister. She is always kissing her on top of her head and asking "where's baby?" Lol. I love being a mommy to two little angels.  And my husband was such a big help, I couldn't have done it without him!
